cassette cover designs

designs!

after the last blogpost and being confused about printing onto fabric i thought i'd give myself an interim brief and play around with my drawings on photoshop to make little cassette cover designs.
it was an outcome i'd thought about at the beginning of this proj and it seemed fitting with the drawings i'd been making.
it really made me step out of my previous mindset and it definitely made everything click for me - i'm excited!!

i feel like i used the good things i learnt about process from my illmatic project and translated them into this one but my outcomes have a new feel and look to them as they're obviously responding to different music - but it's reassuring to see these new ways of working translating onto a different project.

printed

seeing them printed was also cool because it added the tangible aspect i was wanting to have for this whole proj - it's something that i can hold and touch and i'm picturing these in an exhibition setting within their frames and thinking about how nice it will be for people to experience looking through them and opening them up etc

i want a few of them so might work on 2 or 3 more designs and then move onto fabric. was also thinking it would be lovely to have some stickers that could go over the actual tapes to round it up as a product a bit more.

found this pic online (below) that made me think about this more holistically and gave me some more contextual inspo within this area of things.

exciting!!!
