i really like john cochran's gif of the process of burning incense. it seems to be mostly hand-drawn with felt tips/markers with some digital textures used for the smoke and the incense stick.
i was really drawn to the low-fi, hand-made quality of this; the burnt incense curling in on itself is so weirdly satisfying! the erratic splashes of colour around it make it feel really energetic and fun too - they make me very happy :)
i feel like you can really see the hand of the maker in this, which makes it even more endearing. i also feel like this feeling is best achieved when there's some kind of analog element to the artwork or digital textures that mimic that; and that's definitely something that i like to see in my own work. it's playful, it's low-fi and there's a fluidity to it that i find really soothing.
