made another drawing book in response to a couple music videos and interviews - potentially my favourite thus far.
in larger creative practice thoughts it's nice to see again that i have developed a flow of working and tackling briefs that i definitely did not have prior to fmp - the natural progression between the research process /book with getting to know the context behind the album and the visual investigation of it seems like it makes a lot of sense. previously i would have probably attempted to draw without being extensive with my research first which would obviously lead me to being stuck and uninspired but i think that having that research in the form of a little book and then using drawing as research is such a fun process for me and it allows me to be less precious and more playful with my approach to drawing because as opposed to trying to convey an idea (which i don't think is the way i like to draw) i'm just responding to research and videos and words and images. and the collective nature of those responses then conveys the energy/ mood and ideas of what i'm making work about.
also trying to think about how i can move forward visually - in terms of outcomes; i think that at home it's hard to produce the physical things i wanted to produce initially and my immediate instinct is to make more zines but maybe i should make things a bit different for myself - it's just hard to do at home with limited resources. need to see what jamie thinks.
